1. Types of cable

Cables are used in different surroundings, so their shapes look different greatly. But no matter what type of cable, it is used for transmitting signals. Different types of cables have different performance in the transmission. Except for certain special applications, most audio, video cables is divided into single wire , twisted pair, coaxial cable, optical firber.

1.1 Single wire

Single wire is a kind of basic cable. It is made up of a single wire or a patch wires with plastic jacket protecting it. This cable is usually used for transmitting low frequency signals, such as electric power, audio and computer ID code.

1.2 Twisted pair

Twistted pair is a general name. It doesn't have any restriction about the core number and type of twisting. But regarding the cable structure, there are only two types: Shield twisted pair and Unshield twisted pair. Twisted pair is most used in telecommunication, internet and professional audio sets. This cable is made up of two or more insulated and twisted cables.
